From a single HR system built for one hotel in Ho Chi Minh City to a regional HRIS platform trusted across Southeast Asia — this is how Cadena connected the dots.
Each milestone connects to the next — from Vietnam's earliest IT pioneers to a Humanica Group company serving thousands of businesses across the region.
Cadena began its journey in Ho Chi Minh City in 1997, founded by Dutch entrepreneurs just as Vietnam was opening its borders. With the local IT sector virtually non-existent, we were among the first to offer essential IT services and products to the market.
We obtained our first software business license and launched Cadena HRM Series, a client-server solution built around essential attendance and payroll functions. Originally developed for Park Hyatt Ho Chi Minh City, it quickly rolled out across the region's four and five-star hotels, establishing our name in hospitality.
Growth accelerated as we localized our core payroll module for Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand. This expansion pushed us past 100 customers across Indochina, serving a diverse range of industries from hospitality and retail to manufacturing, trading, and banking.

A strategic move to Singapore gave Cadena the footing to support a rapidly growing regional customer base, cementing our position as a true regional HRIS player. Around this time, our core payroll module achieved full compliance coverage across Southeast Asia.
Our first fully web-based platform introduced what remains Cadena's niche today: managing payroll compliance for multiple entities and countries under a single login. That centralized, multi-country control still sets us apart from most other HRIS vendors in the region.
Success in serving multi-country operations carried us to a significant milestone: 250 corporate customers collectively managing a combined headcount of over 300,000 employees on the Cadena platform.
Cadena became part of Humanica Group, instantly expanding our capabilities to serve over 5,000 customers regionally. Humanica is listed on the Thai stock exchange and backed by 1,200 HR and HR-tech specialists across six offices in Southeast Asia.
